How does it work?
The Kemeco Solar Post Light ST4338Q functions by harnessing solar energy through four efficient solar panels mounted on top of the lamp. During the day, these panels collect sunlight and convert it into electrical energy, which is stored in rechargeable batteries. Once the sun sets, the light has an automatic sensor that detects the darkness and triggers the lamp to turn on, illuminating your outdoor space with a warm white LED light, producing brightness of about 160 lumens. The lamp is designed for easy installation with two mounting options – it can be placed on a standard 3-inch post or installed with a pier mount base provided with the product. Importantly, to ensure optimal performance, the solar light must be installed in a spot where it can receive full sunlight for at least 6 to 8 hours, as insufficient sunlight exposure will result in shorter lighting duration during the night. The solid cast aluminum body and glass panels make the light waterproof and resistant to rust, requiring minimal maintenance.

I’ve been searching for a solar lightthat can be mounted on our outdoor stone column I couldn’t seem to find the right size. That was big enough but these definitely do the trick. The light is bright and laughs well into the morning. They were easy enough to mount and appear to be made of quality material. This was just what I was looking for.

I purchased to replace and old rusted gas latern on a 3′ pole. Arrived on a Friday afternoon and I was ready for it. Quick and easy assembly. The fixture base for the pole has an ID of
3.1 with three set screws. Two of my set screws were seized right out of the box so I could not get it straight. I requested a replacement same day, but left it crooked on the pole to test the function. On both days it lit up at dusk and was still on at dawn. I received the replacement on Sunday and quickly swapped out the base where all set screws were functional. The OD of my pole is
2.9 so I needed to make up for 2/10 of an inch. I wrapped the top of the pole and a foil backed rubber insulation tape. The new base slid on perfectly. The set screws tightened it perfectly and I think it looks great. It is a handsome fixture and proportionally looks nice on a 3-in pole. The batteries are replaceable. The led filament bulb appears to also be replaceable. I chose Kemeco and paid more because they advertise tempered glass over the solar panels. I’m not sure there are actually glass panels there. I am also slightly annoyed with the stamped on manufacturer name 5 stars for the form and function. But -2 for the poor quality control hassle questionable application of advertised tempered glass on panels and the stamp which I’ll hit with spray paint eventually.
