How does it work?
The VEVOR DWC Hydroponic System operates on the principles of Deep Water Culture (DWC), which allows plants to grow in water rather than soil. This method provides a nutrient-rich liquid solution, ensuring that plants receive essential nutrients and oxygen directly to their roots.
The system consists of 8 high-quality 5-gallon PP buckets, each equipped with a planting basket designed for various leafy vegetables and fruits. At the heart of this system is a powerful air pump that operates on 120V, delivering an airflow of 25 liters per minute through air hoses connected to air stones submerged in each bucket. These air stones disperse tiny bubbles of air throughout the water, increasing the oxygen content and promoting vigorous root growth.
Users can easily monitor water levels thanks to the included water level device on the side of each bucket, which allows for quick checks without disturbing the plants. The design also includes tight seals and inline check valves that prevent leaks and reverse flow, ensuring a safe and efficient growing environment.
Setting up the system is straightforward, as it comes as a complete kit with all necessary accessories including air hoses, connectors, and clay pebbles for planting. This makes it suitable for both beginners and experienced gardeners wanting to grow indoors or outdoors.

Top positive review
There’s not much here to justify the cost. I could build it for half the price off Lowe’s shelves. It’s convenient, but not quite enough to justify the premium. That said, it’s a pretty decent bit of kit. It’s been dead reliable and has grown some beautiful plants. However, the reason it gets five stars is build quality. It’s well made. My plants represent a large investment in time and effort. Protecting that is worth the extra cost, I suppose.

I saw many of the other reviews stated they had issues with leaking but still saw a lot of good reviews so I decided to take a chance. I will outright say it seems like most of the good reviews are older so I bet the quality went down hill recently. But I had probably a good 20 days or so with this before it started leaking. And when I say leaking I don’t mean just a drip, checked it before bed like normal, I keep all of my hydroponic products in a bedroom that was empty, I had bought only aerogardens but wanted to have a blueberry bush, dwarf mandarin orange tree, etc so I bought this because I have never used a bucket system. But back to what I was saying, I checked on them before bed and in the morning I found literally a pool of water from the pump area. Not only did it ruin my wood floor where the water pooled over night but it ruined my renogy power station I was using to power it and the anker outlet strip. Buying cheap has probably cost me thousands of dollars in damage at this point. I’m just lucky the power station and the power strip did not catch on fire!!! Do not buy this, it may not leak until like a month in but it will leak and it will be a fire hazard. I’m replacing the setup ASAP even if I have to spend hundreds to do so because I’d rather do that than let my house catch on fire due to the pooling water over night, as a reminder the pump is electrical and needs to be plugged into an outlet to work so water around the pump alone is a fire hazard. Please do not buy this! If you want a complete beginners set avoid this one at all cost, on top of it being dangerous the instructions are basically useless and I had to go to YouTube just to figure out the setup. I bought cheap at a little over a hundred dollars and I’m paying a huge price of having a couple thousand dollars worth of damage as a result.
